      4.Hypnosis puts things into your mind and controls you. No hypnosis is never about mind control nor putting things into your mind. Basically, a person already has it in himself to improve. In the case of weight loss hypnosis, a person entering into the program already has the want to lose weight, but is only inhibited due to their past or the negative vibes in their environment. These negative conditioning is removed through hypnosis, and what is left is the person’s desire to lose weight.

      Real life hypnosis is actually giving the person more control over his actions. By removing the negative training that your environment has given you, the body will automatically go towards what it thinks is the better more beneficial path, which is in this case healthy eating and exercising behaviors.

          Hypnosis is “a special psychological state with certain physiological attributes, resembling sleep only superficially and marked by a functioning of the individual at a level of awareness other than the ordinary conscious state.”[1] According to “state theory”, it is a mental state, while, according to “non-state theory”, it is imaginative role-enactment.[2][3][4]
          While under this state of mind, one’s focus and concentration is heightened. This individual is able to concentrate intensely on a specific thought or memory, while blocking out all possible sources of distraction. [5] Hypnosis is usually induced by a procedure known as a hypnotic induction, which is commonly composed of a long series of preliminary instructions and suggestions.[6] Hypnotic suggestions may be delivered by a hypnotist in the presence of the subject, or may be self-administered (“self-suggestion” or “autosuggestion”). The use of hypnotism for therapeutic purposes is referred to as “hypnotherapy”, while its use as a form of entertainment for an audience is known as “stage hypnosis”.

          Anxiety (also called angst or worry) is a psychological and physiological state characterized by somatic, emotional, cognitive, and behavioral components.[2] It is the displeasing feeling of fear and concern

          In the holistic professionals industries there is a great need for practitioners to undertake regular CPD. Many trainings such as NLP, Hypnotherapy and even coaching offer a “train once” qualification. That qualification then lasts for a lifetime with no body overseeing the work carried out by that individual, and very little security for the clients they encounter.

          One of the biggest problems for unregulated industries such as these is the lack of emphasis on CPD (continual professional development)

          This means that professionals may have trained long ago, leaving their clients at best risking the use of out of date techniques and solutions and at worst, in the hands of a therapist who has forgotten or lost their skills.

          To jump from a situation of no regulation over CPD (continued professional development) to one where it is mandatory would be to big a pill for many practitioners to swallow. Many holistic therapists work part time, or are only using their skills in a non formal way. Imposing such regulations on these individuals would be unfruitful and unnecessary. Then rises the question “How do you draw the line between those who are truly professional and those who just “dabble?”

          The answer has to come in the form of self regulated CPD. It is the perfect way for hypnotherapists, NLP Practitioners, coaches and the like to define themselves in the level of activity the undertake in their working practice and the level of professionalism they wish to demonstrate to those that they work with.

          It makes perfect sense that those who wish to demonstrate a high level of professional conduct would indeed already participate in regular CPD and that they would ensure that their clients are aware of this.

          CPD Approved is a vehicle for such professionals to not only formally demonstrate to their clients that they do undertake regular CPD, but also gives them an opportunity to encompass this within their marketing strategy, an area which many NLP Practitioners, hypnotherapists and professional coaches often struggle with.

          It also means that they are able to have a better structure to their CPD. Rather than just adding to their skills or revisiting forming training elements when they feel it is a good time, or when they realise a lack of knowledge, instead the practitioner is encouraged to plan ahead with their CPD with the use of CPD points.

          It becomes necessary for the therapist to measure their proactivity on an annual basis and to find accessible ways to increase their CPD activity if they find that they are low on points that year.

                  Hypnotherapy is one of the most promising branches of psycho-therapy. It can cure different illnesses that concern the mind such as insomnia, asthma, tension headaches, weight loss, eating disorders, addictions, and phobias. In hypnotherapy, the hypnotherapist put the patient in a trance-like state and asks him to open his mind and listen to suggestions. In this manner, some patients are cured of their illness because their mind are conditioned and refreshed.

                  There are two types of hypnotherapy that are commonly used in helping patients and these are the suggestive hypnotherapy and the analytical hypnotherapy. In suggestive hypnotherapy, the hypnotherapist can cure unhealthy habits of patients like nail-biting, eating disorders, and smoking. When the patient is put on a trance-like state, the hypnotherapist will make either direct or indirect suggestions to the patient in the form of metaphors or other figurative speech so that the patient will abruptly stop doing his habits. For example, if the person is keen on biting his or her nails, then the hypnotherapist will likened his nail into the patient’s mind into something awful like insects or worms. After the session, this will make the person automatically keep his fingers away from his mouth whenever he feels like biting them. The advantage of this method is that because of the suggestive statements the patient hears from the hypnotherapist, the patient begins to form images in his mind that are very unaccommodating. In this manner, the conditioned mind of the patient will be in his favor. This type of hypnotherapy can only take about 1 or 2 sessions. The only problem with this method is that there is a great probability that the habit may return after some time if the patient see other people do the same habit.

                  The analytical technique, on the other hand, is the method wherein the treatment goes directly to the mental issues of the client. This is the method wherein the hypnotherapist will be asking the patient while in trance to uncover the issues he is keeping from his subconscious mind. The hypnotherapist understands that anxieties, depression, nervous breakdown and other mental anomalies that cannot be cured by drugs emanate from past experiences and therefore must be uncovered for analysis. After few sessions and the causes have been determined, the hypnotherapist will then replace all the negative emotions and replace them with positive feelings so that a renewed mental state can be reached.

                  Analytical hypnotherapy is also used on people who are suffering from physical pains and other mental related issues like eczema, hay fever, and insomnia. These disorders sometimes occur and recur once stress and depression sets in. With more sessions, the hypnotherapist can resolve the issues of the patient one by one until all negative feelings are replaced with positive emotions. This makes the treatment more solid and reliable and the effect can be long lasting.

                  This is where analytical hypnotherapy gain advantage over suggestive hypnotherapy because with analytical hypnotherapy the probability of the recurrence of illness is lesser or not at all. However, the disadvantage of this therapy is it can take many sessions before the patient can fully get over his or her problem and some patients do not come back after few sessions because probably they think they are already cured. That is why hypnotherapists always advise to their patients that they should be willing to undergo many sessions because it takes a lot of time to go back to the life history of the patient and find the root cause of his problems.
